Can you tell me something more about sobriety? ~Liz

Getting sober wasn’t just about putting down the drink.
It was about picking up every broken piece of myself I had abandoned along the way.
Yes, I chose to break up with alcohol…
But I also had to break up from the anger I swallowed,
the fear I danced with,
the resentments I rehearsed,
and the hate I disguised as protection.
Sobriety didn’t just clear my body.
It cleared my vision.
It taught me how to stop reacting and start remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.
Healing is not a straight line.
Some days, you bloom.
Some days, you break.
But every day—you rise. Even when it’s quiet. Even when it’s messy.
I don’t do this work because it’s easy.
I do it because I know the way out.
Keep going, love.
Your peace is on the other side of all the things you’re afraid to feel.
And I promise—you are strong enough to feel them.
