Maybe Life Isn’t Falling Apart… Maybe It’s Refining You 🌿
Can I share something that has been on my heart lately?
So many people come to me feeling stuck. Too old. Too late. Too tired. Too broken. Too far behind. Their mind tells them they should be farther along by now… that they wasted too much time… that somehow they missed their chance.
Friend, can I lovingly challenge that thought for just a moment?
What if life is not punishing you?
What if life is actually preparing you?
What if all the heartbreak, mistakes, losses, grief, disappointments, setbacks, and even the seasons where you completely lost yourself…
...were not there to destroy you, but to refine you?
We spend so much of our lives trying to control everything. Trying to control people. Trying to control outcomes. Trying to make life go according to our plan. Trying to make someone finally understand us. Trying to make someone become who we wish they would be.
And when life doesn’t cooperate?
Ohhh… how we suffer.
We replay arguments in our head. We overthink conversations. We live in regret. We obsess over what should have happened. We compare ourselves to everyone else. We get trapped in yesterday or terrified of tomorrow.
Meanwhile…
life is happening right now.
And our monkey mind steals it.
If you have never heard me talk about monkey mind before, let me explain. Monkey mind is that nonstop chatter in your head that swings wildly from thought to thought like a monkey swinging through trees. One minute it is replaying something painful from ten years ago. The next minute it is worrying about something that has not even happened yet. Then suddenly it is comparing, doubting, fearing, judging, regretting, or trying to control everything.
Exhausting, right?
Meditation has taught me something beautiful:
You do not have to believe every thought your mind throws at you.
Just because your mind says: “It’s too late.”
does not make it true.
Just because your mind says: “You should be farther ahead.”
does not make it true.
Just because your mind says: "You missed your chance.”
does not make it true.
Sometimes your mind is simply scared.
And scared minds tell scary stories.
But healing begins the moment we pause… take a breath… and gently ask ourselves:
“What if I am exactly where I need to be to begin again?”
Because maybe this season is not your ending.
Maybe it is your becoming.
Maybe peace matters more now than proving.
Maybe slowing down is wisdom.
Maybe letting go is strength.
Maybe your greatest chapter has not even been written yet.
And if nobody told you lately…
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
And it is NOT too late.
Not even close.
Your story is still unfolding.
And maybe…
just maybe…
life is not falling apart.
Maybe it is finally refining you. 💛
A Few Gentle Affirmations 💛
Repeat slowly… and really let them sink in:
✨ I am exactly where I need to be to begin again.
✨ I do not have to believe every thought my mind tells me.
✨ I release the need to rush my healing.
✨ It is not too late for me.
✨ I choose peace over pressure.
✨ I am becoming stronger, wiser, and more grounded every day.
Tell me in the comments if this sounds like you???
