Forgiveness is for YOU!

One of the hardest things you will ever be asked to do…is forgive someone who never apologized.

~Someone who never admitted what they did.

~Someone who hurt you deeply… and maybe moved on as if nothing ever happened.

~Someone who may not even realize the moment that changed something inside of you forever.

And if we’re being honest…

That hurts.

🌿

Because part of us wants accountability. We want them to finally understand. To say, “I’m sorry.” To acknowledge the pain they caused.

We replay the story in our heads…

Thinking maybe if we hold onto the hurt long enough…somehow it will make things right.

But friend,

I’ve learned something. Forgiveness is not for them...

....It’s for YOU.

Because carrying resentment is heavy.

~It steals your peace.

~It keeps you emotionally tied to a moment that already happened.

And meanwhile…the other person may have long moved on.

But you? You’re still reliving it.

~Still carrying it.

~Still suffering.

Now hear me…Forgiveness does NOT mean what they did was okay.

~It does not mean you trust them again.

~It does not mean you let them back into your life.

~And it certainly doesn’t mean you pretend it didn’t hurt.

No.

Forgiveness simply says:

👉 “I am no longer willing to let this pain control me.”

👉 “I choose peace over bitterness.”

👉 “I release this because I deserve freedom.”

That is not weakness.

That is strength.

That is healing.

That is growth.

Hear me on this one....Sometimes the person who hurt us…

never changes. Never apologizes. Never understands.

But we have to stop waiting for closure from people who are not capable of giving it.

Sometimes… WE become our own closure.

So if you’ve been carrying something heavy for far too long…

Maybe today is the day to begin putting it down.

Not because they deserve forgiveness…

But because YOU deserve peace. 💛
