You Are Seen

This morning, if I’m being honest… I woke up feeling a little heavy.
It’s Mother’s Day.
And like many people today, relationships can feel complicated.
I found myself feeling sad that I won’t be seeing my mom today.
But then something unexpected happened…
My husband and I went to church (we’ve only been attending for about 2 months and absolutely love it). New Day Church in Enfield, CT. The pastor started his sermon and mentioned a “conversation he had in the parking lot with someone new to the church.”
My husband leaned over and whispered…
“I think he’s talking about you.”
I laughed and said, “No way.”
Well…
He WAS talking about me.
Our conversation about faith,
hope,
and the Christian conference we recently attended (in Boston) somehow became part of today’s message.
And in that moment…
Something shifted in me.
It felt like a gentle reminder:
Sometimes, when we’re hurting…God finds quiet ways to remind us we are seen.
A conversation.
A message.
A moment.
A stranger.
A sermon.
Whatever your beliefs are…
Maybe today, the message is this:
You are not forgotten.
And maybe the hard things we carry are not the whole story.
Happy Mother’s Day to anyone celebrating,
grieving,
healing,
or simply trying their best today.
You are seen.
